Social Media / Public Relations Intern

Role Description

The Social Media & Public Relations Intern will play a key role in supporting the Communication/Marketing team by assisting with day-to-day public relations tasks and helping to execute the company's social media strategy across various platforms. This intern will gain hands-on experience in content creation, media relations, event support, and brand management in a fast-paced environment.

Core Responsibilities:

• Content Creation & Management: Draft and schedule engaging, brand-aligned content (text, images, video) for social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook). Assist with writing and editing press releases, media advisories, blog posts, and website copy.
• Social Media Monitoring & Engagement: Monitor social channels for mentions and relevant industry trends. Engage with the online community and respond to comments/messages under the direction of the manager to foster positive brand perception.
• Media Relations Support: Assist in updating and maintaining media lists and databases. Help track and compile media coverage (press clippings) and support the pitching of stories to journalists.
• Administrative & Research Support: Conduct research on industry competitors, market trends, and potential media/influencer contacts. Support the coordination and logistics of PR events, media interviews, and campaigns.
• Reporting: Assist in gathering data and analyzing the performance of social media content and PR initiatives to inform future strategy.

Qualifications

• Social Media Marketing and Social Media Content Creation skills
• Digital Marketing and Marketing knowledge
• Strong Communication skills
• Interest or experience in public relations is a plus
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Proactive and self-motivated attitude
• Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field

Pay Rate: $20 / hr.

Internship Duration: 3 months / 90 days.

Must reside in Central Florida( Orlando and surrounding areas). Must be comfortable attending events, socializing, networking, engaging with prospects.
